Steve Law Band

We've just finished our new CD "Old Oak Tree". It is set for a September 2014 release. It is seven unique and different songs that highlight the the talents of each band member.

Steve Law Band "Old Oak Tree" is light, crisp and clean. It is impossible not to tap your foot or feel some warmth when you listen.

Steve Law has had "all this music" stored up for years, just building up. Now it is just pouring out. Mainly it is what he can create with a guitar and his voice. According to Steve, "going into the studio and playing with all kinds of unbelievable musicians is like laying down the best paint on a new canvas". Working with the audio painting is the opportunity to create in the world what he is thinking in his head.

Steve started learning guitar and cello in elementary and middle school. By the time he had reached high school he dropped the cello which was a "serious mistake" according to Steve. There is not a richer or fuller sound than that of the cello. When he looks back on his decision to quit playing cello it is something that he genuinely regrets. Since the guitar was easier to carry around, he stuck with that. He has been continuing to learn how to play the guitar since that time.

Steve Law Band's EP "Balance" was released in October of 2011

The excitement of playing has never worn off for Steve. Connecting with the audience is always so much fun, ulitmately being able to touch them (the audience) lyrically or musically, it starts an adventure that is shared. Regardless of whether it is 20 people or thousands, Steve and his band always give every show everything that they have to give.

Steve's influences are too many to mention with a full range from classical to heavy metal. Some artists to name a few are Tom Petty, The Beatles, Michale Hedges, Leo Kottke and the list goes on. It all comes down to primarily guitar driven music.

The bassist/guitarist/singer/engineer for the band is Kyle Zender. Toddy Ivy is the amazing voice and percussion that complements the sound of band, beautifully filling out the sound. Finally Hill Baker most recently joined the band on the drum kit and cajon.

The band has worked up over 30 original songs and a hand full of covers. Steve Law Band can play a short opening set from betweeen 3 to 3 hours.

The new songs seem to come out constantly now.The more I play the more I love it.I create interesting and unique guitar driven melody that is overlaid with lyrics from life experience that people can feel. We play as a four piece band.

Mariah Carey’s Label Boss L.A. Reid on Her Chances of Another No. 1 Hit: ‘It’s Not Realistic’

“Radio doesn’t cater to veteran artists or legends,” Epic Records CEO says
One day after Mariah Carey returned to the stage of the Billboard Music Awards for the first time in 15 years, her label boss L.A. Reid expressed skepticism about the chart-topping prospects for new single, “Infinity.”
Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid said in a far-ranging interview withBillboard published Monday: “To even be on the radio at this point in her career is a huge accomplishment, because radio doesn’t cater to veteran artists or legends. Radio caters to in-the-moment stars.”
Reid was quick to point out that Carey is not the only legacy artist to have trouble cracking the charts these days.
“Nobody that put out records 25 years ago is going to have a No. 1. Not Paul [McCartney], Stevie [Wonder], Bruce [Springsteen], Mick [Jagger] or Keith [Richards]. Not Prince, not anyone,” he said. So if she can get on the radio, we’ve done damn good. Would we like to have a No. 1? F– yeah, I’m greedy. But it’s not realistic.”
Maybe it’s that kind of honesty that brought Carey back to Reid, who signed the 45-year-old star to Epic in March and immediately packaged a greatest-hits collection, “#1s,” to accompany her Las Vegas concert residency. While at Universal’s Island Def Jam records, Carey felt she was languishing without Reid’s support.
“I felt really abandoned by him. I was lost. I really didn’t like being at a place without a family. You’ve gotta have people that actually care about you as an artist, that’s first and foremost, and as a person as well,” Carey recently told the L.A. Times.
“That’s what you get with him. I was kind of like floundering, doing some work that I’m still really proud of.”
Carey’s residency at Caesars Palace includes two more dates in May, with nine shows scheduled for July.

24GIS DEBUT ALBUM "IN&OUT", HIP-HOP HAS TRAVELED BEYOND THE SHORES OF GEOGRAPHICAL LIMITATIONS

April 3, 2015, (Lagos, Nigeria) -- 24Gis is a duo group made up of Tino & Sqilz. They are song writers and have co-written virtually all the songs in their album. They are based in Nigeria, a country where piracy has eaten the very heart of her music industry and majority of music consumers barely encourage hip-hop artist but that didn't stop the dream. "IN&OUT" is their debut album. The album consist of ten tracks. The album tiltle simply means the IN and OUT of the journey so far for 24Gis. After dropping their debut single "One Look from You ft Gt da guitarman", the positive reviews from fans drove them back to the studio to thrill fans even more.

IN&OUt comprises of several hip-hop categories, ranging from hip-hop/rnb, to hip-hop/rap, to hip-hop/reggae and Afro hip-hop. Key tracks in the album include: Come Home, So Close, Anywhere You Are From and When You Are Down. There's no doubt that Hip-hop has traveled far beyond the shores of geographical limitations and each of this boundaries might have a different language but not a different feel.

24Gis is an independent group with a few local and international tours to their credit. 24Gis distributed their album worldwide through Tunecore. Tino and Sqilz have been together for over a decade now. Hopefully, 24Gis would be among the next good thing to happen to Hip-hop. ###
